Workouts? ABsolutely

This has been another hectic week for us, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been trying new things.  I have been mixing up my workouts this week and I found one that I think anyone could benefit from.  Since it is getting closer to summer, I know people are trying to get “beach body” ready.  I found the below ab workout to really have a lasting burn and I am hopeful for it to produce results the more I do it.  Like all of the workouts I share, this one can be modified to fit your core level and you can do more as you get stronger.

“Ripped Abs”

  • 30 bicycle crunches (click here for video)
  • 30 mountain climbers
  • 30 Russian twists (click here for video)
  • 60-second plank
  • 30-second side plank (each side)
  • 30 mountain climbers
  • 30 bicycle crunches
  • 60-second plank
  • 30-second side plank (each side)
  • 30 scissor abs (each leg up and down or over and under counts as 1) (click here for video)
  • 30 mountain climbers
  • 60-second plank

I know this seems like a lot and you may feel overwhelmed at first, but there are variations of the plank and Russian twists that can be done to help you complete this workout.  If you are unable to do the plank for 60 seconds, just hold until exhaustion.  Also, if you aren’t quite ready to tackle the entire workout, start out doing half of each exercise and work your way up.

Once you feel you have mastered the workout as it is, you can try to increase your plank time, maybe add a kettlebell to your Russian twists, or do more of any of the crunches and climbers.
